| | | Spring 2008 - Gail Friedlander - Images that Suit "New York, Paris, Milan and London are the four centres that influence the fashions we see. Each fashion Mecca had a slighyly different take on spring 2008. What they shared in common was the focus on femininity and a neutral palette mainly using black and white, alabaster and soft grey to anchor their lines while conjuring up some eye candy bright to make their collections have that breathe of springtime. Bright green, bright blue, hot citrus, orange and red led the way. "

| | Themes - Balmy Days
Plant life, animal prints and landscape give inspiration to fabric surfaces this spring. Ethnic motifs, safari styling, textures, earth tones, beads and stones give character to casual wear.
- Chromatic Contrast
The timeless classic, black and white contrast creates a modern dramatic style. Silhouettes are simple with striking negative/positive combinations. Optical and geometric pairings create a modern pop mood. - Avant Garde
Freedom of expression through colour, shape and texture characterizes this theme. Unique shapes, large buttons, bold colour and abstract prints bring spring alive.
