Vintage Prints

Vintage Prints are inspired by Gucci and Hermes, and retro animal prints: leopard, snake, tiger and zebra, are updated in unique ways that you just have to see. Camouflage prints have subtlety infiltrated business and business casual wear and florals are more abstract and bold.

Checks are very important players but they are also anything but boring in powerful combination with prints to create that ‘wow’ factor.

Classics are being restaged as the ‘IT’ items for fall:  the suit and the blazer are touted for their versatility for power to chic casual looks. The jackets’ ability to be short or long and to pair with jeans, leggings, dress pants, dresses and skirts have given them their rightful rebound as the centre stage attraction for fall.

Whimsy also takes its place as a top trend for fall with a focus on fun faux furs in solids and animal prints. As Marc Aurel design team says “the border between wool-coat and fake fur coat is blurring”.Colour for fall brings black, navy and grey mixed with the excitement of cinnamon, toffee and chocolate (calorie free), port, teal, hunter, royal and pink in creative patterns and combinations that bring their renaissance to the forefront. The excitement doesn’t stop there as denim blues meet Chanel inspired fabrics, fringes, pearl buttons and graphic weaving and striping.

Monochrome also makes the A list this season as a command to keep it simple and streamlined with tonal colour. That doesn’t have to be all black to be super sleek. A continual colour combination in your outfit creates unity and sleek sophistication, as Iris shows in her fall collection at Images That Suit.

Chic Knitwear

Chic Knitwear has become important as casual wear makes an entrance into the workplace as well as holding it’s predominance in an after work life. What is new about knitwear is soft luxe fabric, unique sleeve and bodice detail and the alert that anything that looks like it could be a classic piece but is a little too cool to be considered a true stable is what the fall trend for knitwear is all about. Again you really have to see it.

Pairing is the buzz word for fall; best tactic for wardrobe investment. Make sure your pieces are easily paired: for example. Let’s call it a cross culture that exists in your cupboard.

Happy Feet

Happy Feet will come from a variety of themes for fall.  Animal magnetism is realized with croco leathers and subtle sophisticated snake and leopard print booties and pumps. Well Red means red/porto shoes and booties. The Menswear trend gives us scrumptious black/white houndstooth and Prince of Wales patterns meshed with black. Finally the Moto theme offers up creative stud detail. Heel heights and shapes abound!
