Top 9 Fashion Trends Spring 2020 at Images That Suit

Top Trend

Colour:  You will see shots of brilliance, shots of calm and shots of neutrals. Get ready for Blue; from aqua to blue mosaic (bright tone) to navy, Green; from highlighter green (lime) and jade to khaki; Red; from scarlet to watermelon to soft pink, Spice; from cinnamon to saffron and yellow, and finally Neutrals which includes all shades of beige and white.  Black and white fans don’t despair your needs will be met too this spring.

Tonality: A crisp modern approach from designers embraced single shade looks; a head to toe match.
Prints:  The animal print continues in popularity: snake, leopard and zebra take the stage. Garden florals, polka dots, paisley and retro prints abound and stripes somewhat supersede checks as a fashion focus.

Blazers: This season shows the rebirth of the blazer as a fashion essential. Collections presented restyled blazers galore in casual and more structured fabrics to team with jeans and leggings, casual and dress pants, dresses and skirts.

Tops:  With the move to a more casual wardrobe designers focused their efforts on a variety of styles of tops with and without sleeves and toppers to coordinate in the spring colours and the many prints of the season. Watch for crochet detail.

Great Fashion = Feeling Great

How are we going to give our wardrobes a refresh this spring? The good news is there are lots of choices. We can choose elegant and straight forward, classic with an updated twist and retro with a nod to the past.  This season is casual yet sophisticated, fun yet chic, business savvy yet modern. A lifestyle sensitivity emerged this season from our collections that is refreshingly welcome.

Pants: Should it be narrow or should it be wide? Fewer rules in fashion and more of… if it suits you and appeals to you, go for it! Pants will be narrow and wide, cropped and full length.

Dresses: What is easier in spring than a dress? Again if it speaks to you, go for it, because you will see prints and solids, short and long, fitted and flowy.

Fabrics: Linen was popular for spring, especially in sleeveless flowy dresses and soft blazers. Denim is alive and well in traditional and bright colour options, and crease resistant light weight sustainable fabrics abound. Comfort is key!

Shoes: As I have read, ‘two words for anyone who thinks shoes aren’t important: Dorothy and Cinderella’. You can put your best heel or toe forward this season in a variety of shoe themes. Dressy runners, redesigned athleisure options, sandals and pumps with block heels, printed heels, wedges, classic pumps, even pumps with athleisure soles.

Accessories: When you need to perk up an outfit jewelry comes to the rescue. Tortoise shell, bright enamel, thick short chain, modernized pearls, and colourful florals are spring’s trend offerings. Maybe something new and different is on the agenda this spring but the classics remain strong.
